Holding The Field

Presence, Resilience, and Authority Without Disappearing

I speak to audiences who are highly capable, deeply attuned, and quietly exhausted.

The people others rely on to stabilize the room.

The ones who notice what’s shifting before anyone else does.

The ones who stay calm under pressure — often at a personal cost.

This work is for those who were field tested long before they were ever given language for what they were doing.

What This Work Is About

We’ve been taught a narrow version of resilience — one that praises endurance, rewards over-functioning, and quietly normalizes self-erasure.

I offer a different frame.

My work centers on holding the field:

the practice of staying present in complex, relational environments without absorbing everything in them, managing what isn’t yours, or disappearing to keep things running smoothly.

This is not about motivation.

It’s not about toughness.

And it’s not about becoming less capable.

It’s about discernment — knowing when to engage, when to hold steady, and when stepping back is the most responsible move available.

Signature Keynote

Hold the Field: Resilience Without Disappearing

This keynote reframes resilience away from endurance and toward integrity.

Drawing from military service, high-stakes public leadership, and live performance, I explore what happens when awareness is mistaken for obligation — and how highly attuned people are often conscripted into holding emotional, relational, or organizational space without consent.

Audiences are introduced to the concept of holding the field as a way to remain visible, grounded, and intact while navigating pressure, conflict, and complexity.

This talk is especially resonant for leaders, veterans, caregivers, creatives, and professionals who are often relied upon to manage difficult dynamics simply because they can.

Format:

45–60 minute keynote (adaptable)

Optional Q&A or facilitated discussion

What Audiences Take With Them

Audiences leave with:

  • A new definition of resilience that doesn’t require self-erasure
  • Language for awareness without obligation
  • A clearer distinction between presence and over-functioning
  • Permission to be less “helpful” in order to be more present
  • A practical way to stay intact in demanding environments

This work doesn’t ask people to withdraw from the world.

It helps them remain in it — without disappearing.

Why This Work Lands

I bring over two decades of experience navigating live, unpredictable environments — from military service and public safety to leading high-stakes audiences and commanding rooms as a professional comedian.

This is not theoretical work.

It has been practiced under pressure, in real time, where decisions mattered and presence wasn’t optional.

It is field tested.

Audiences & Settings

I speak for:

  • Conferences and professional associations
  • Veteran and military-adjacent organizations
  • Leadership retreats and women’s summits
  • Creative, cultural, and civic institutions

Each talk is shaped to the room — without diluting the core message.
